Yuri Arajs is a Canadian artist who works and lives in Vancouver BC. Yuri considers himself to be a minimalist landscape artist who has a focus on the sky and what happens above us.

This latest body of artwork pays attention to the weather and what it looks like. There are also specific investigations into the elements of those images.

Minimal yet complex, every mark and use of material carefully thought out and important to the narrative. The frequent use of found materials, such as scraps of metal and vintage book pages, add an element of history and time. The work is visually striking and powerful. Yuri earned his Masters Degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art in the USA. His artwork has been shown nationally and internationally and is both in public and private collections.
